Our Ministry

Statement of Faith

The ministry of the Canadian Fellowship of Christian Spiritual Directors (CFCSD) is grounded in Scripture and Biblical theology, vibrant by a Trinitarian approach to the spiritual life, and informed by the richness and diversity of our Christian heritage.  We accept Scripture to be the written Word of God, divinely inspired with unmitigated trustworthiness and authority in all matters of faith and practice. The CFCSD affirms the historic statements of the Apostles’ Creed.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, the Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
And was born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

We Celebrate:

The triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The incarnate Son: Jesus Christ, fully God, fully man.
The goodness and splendor of the world, created and sustained by the Word of God’s power.
Salvation by grace received through faith in Jesus Christ, who alone, through His life, death and bodily resurrection, redeems us from sin and reconciles us to God.
The fundamental unity of all believers, forming one Church, diverse in form and expression, of which Christ is the Head.
The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling, and transformational work of God the Holy Spirit, who empowers the worship, service and witness of the people of God in all their activities.
